Brains, Biases, and Barriers to True Connection Across Differences in Coaching. Featured speaker on Coaches for Equality and Diversity monthly call, November 19, 2014.

As coaches committed to equity and diversity as well as the realization of human potential, we know that creating a safe space for diverse clients and “coaching across cultures” is essential. So why do most of us still struggle to do this effectively? Why is there still a divide between coaches of color and White coaches oftentimes? What’s missing? Learn some surprising reasons why communicating across differences is so difficult (hint: it’s our brains, and evolutionary biology!). Explore the special barriers that coaches and “politically progressive” individuals face in being effective across differences. Engage in stimulating discussion, and come away with some concrete takeaways!

What does Susana do? Who does she work with, and how? What makes her special? A conversation with Meredith Eisenberg of The Launch Ladies.
