I facilitate deep healing in my clients through trauma-informed coaching, body-focused stress management and intuitive insight. If my life were a train track, one rail would be race, diversity, equity and interculturalism. The other would be health and wellness.
Health and wellness have been a part of my life in three main ways. One, I’ve been an athlete for most of my life. I’ve been a competitive runner, a dancer, a boxer and kickboxer, a gym rat and a fitness and dance instructor. Two, I grew up in a health-conscious family where we were very mindful of what and how we ate. I’ve always been a healthy eater, and have experimented with many different ways of eating, from paleo and Whole 30 to the blood type diet and Weight Watchers.
Three, I’ve struggled with mental health issues since childhood. They went undiagnosed and untreated for years, but slowly I learned I suffer from trichotillomania, anxiety, and depression. I also have attachment disorder, developmental trauma from childhood and a high ACEs score. I’ve benefitted from numerous therapies including talk therapy, CBT, EMDR, EFT, IFS, and somatic experiencing. I’ve had the privilege of working with other healing modalities such as curanderismo and inipi. I’ve learned a tremendous amount from numerous massage therapists, physical therapists, chiropractors, Doctors of Oriental Medicine, and even energy healers and a hypnotherapist.
Today, I help heal what ails us through creativity, heart and insight. I provide individual and group sessions of The Resilience Toolkit, a body-focused, trauma-informed set of eight practices that have transformed my own life, and that of hundreds of people I’ve worked with around the globe.
